By Car

Take the A3 Napoli - Salerno highway to the Castellammare di Stabia exit and follow the signs to "Sorrentoā€¯. After passing the bridge with the "Sorrento" sign, continue straight. At the intersection, turn left and then right at the roundabout, which will take you to Via degli Aranci.
Continue along this road, then turn left at the intersection following the signs to "Massa Lubrense - Sant'Agata". After about 1 km, you will be at an intersection where the Ristorante Verdemare and Hotel Metropole are located to the left. Turnleft on Via Nastro Verde following signs to "Sant'Agata".
After about 3 km, many navigators will instruct you to turn left on Via Crocevia, but instead continue straight for a few meters and then turn left where the sign to "Priora" indicates.
Continue along this road until arriving in the main square of the village, with the church to your left. Pass straight through the square for another kilometer, pass the sport field, and continue down along Via Priora for another 500 meters to Via Santa Maria del Toro. Turn left and you've arrived!

Please note

Via Santa Maria del Toro is only 2.10 meters wide, so if you are driving a large car you will have to park along Via Priora and then walk about 100 meters to our entrance. Let us know ahead of time so we can arrange for a convenient place to leave your car.
For small and mid-sized cars, we have a small parking area at the villa. Places are limited, so let us know if you will need to use the parking area so we can save a spot for you.

Walking Trails to Sorrento from Villa Carolina

There are a number of walking trails near Villa Carolina that connect the hamlet of Priora to Sorrento and Massa Lubrense. The road along the coast was only built at the beginning of the 1900s, so these trails were used by local farmers to reach the nearby town markets for centuries before there was a paved road.

From Piora to Sorrento along Via Sant'Antonio

This is a lovely scenic walk downhill through gardens to Sorrento. The trail ends near the Hilton Hotel, and takes less than 20 minutes. From Priora, walkers take the final stretch of a longer trail from Torca near Massa Lubrense, which was once used by local women balancing large baskets of farm products on their heads to take to market and sell in Sorrento. Notice the archway along the route, where an official would check the goods and charge the women duty tax.

From Priora to Sorrento along Via Capodimonte

This trail passes directly in front of the entrance to Villa Carolina, so can be easily followed downhill to where it ends near the Capodimonte Hotel in Sorrento.

From Priora di Massa Lubrense along Via Montecorbo

This trail leads to the town of Massa Lubrense, passing by the charming hamlet of Santa Maria Annuziata that looks out over Capri. One of our favorite restaurants, La Torre, is located here. In Massa Lubrense, the trail ends near a small chapel with stained glass windows, and here you an decide to continue for another stretch to Marina della Lobra for a walk along the seaside.
